Yosemite granite boulders are characterized are ancient river boulders are commonly a rusty orange, or tan-gold or brown color, sometimes available in grey color tones. The sizes of these boulders commonly range from 12" to 36" in size, but larger specimen sizes are available.

Bulk quarry direct shipments range in size from about 500 pounds to about 3,000 pounds and will have light amounts of river sediment or sand on them. Individual specimens and sized boulders that have been cleaned are available.
Larger specimens can be chosen from field photos and can be specially ordered. Bulk shipments on these boulders range from gold, tan, red, and brown color tones.
Tons vs. Yards and Square Feet.
In most cases we charge by the ton and we have the receipts from the scale house at the quarry to show upon request. Materials sold by the yard tend to have very in-accurate amounts in the trucks. Amounts depend the size of the loader bucket, how well the material was scooped up and who was supervising the loading of the truck. Scale House totals don't lie, so why take a chance on losing money and time with how many square feet, scoops, skips and or dumps were made in loading the truck?
Architects, public agencies, contractors and owner-builders requiring a competitive bid for the materials and transport costs should E-mail us with material specifications, amount and date needed and buyers contact information. We typically employ trucks with carrying capacities ranging from 17 to 26.5 tons.

Product Samples
California Building Material Supply believes that for most consumers and end users of these landscaping or building material products the best location to view most of these products is at the actual site where they are going be used. This is particularly true for existing homes and commercial locations that are being renovated or re-landscaped. Samples of most materials can be delivered and evaluated by you on site for you to make the most informed choice possible. Materials are sold per the specification of the stone type, product brand and basic sizes.
Samples are shipped via United State Postal Service, Priority Mail. We can get about 16 pounds of material into a large flat rate box. Samples are sent with an invoice on Net 10 Day Terms. When ordering your samples use the Purchase Order function at checkout and enter SAMPLES. This will allow you to make a purchase without having to pay for the samples at that time.

Product Specifications and Uses
Boulders, Stones, Cobble and Rip Rap are effective in creating scale, color and texture contrast in open landscapes, dry and wet creek features, waterfalls, ponds. Boulders, Stones, Cobble and Rip Rap are also very effective at steering foot traffic away from primary plantings to prevent damage to plants and worn out sections of the landscape.
Small boulders are easily moved with basic hand pushed landscape equipment. Most boulders that are 2-1/2 feet or smaller can be easily handled by 2 or 3 healthy men or a small tractor. Work with boulders larger than 3 feet is likely to include some use of a tractor and skilled landscape construction staff.
